Wanted ‘armed and dangerous’ man may be in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Bardstown police are searching for a person of interest in a shooting Wednesday, and they said he could be in Lexington.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for 18-year-old Akbar Mubelela concerning the shooting on Ashberry Drive.

WDRB, our FOX sister station in Louisville, is reporting a man was found in the street Wednesday morning and he was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital with injuries believed to be life-threatening.

The police later confirmed the man was in stable condition.

Mubelela has been charged with first-degree assault with a deadly weapon and first-degree robbery.

According to the police, he is a frequent visitor between Bardstown and Lexington and is considered armed and dangerous.
