Girls Lacrosse Preview, 2024: Title contenders and teams to watch in Group 3
The girls lacrosse season is just days away and our preview is moving on to the state’s best teams as we break down the title races in each group. Last year was the first time since 2011 that the team that won the South, Group 1 title wasn’t named Moorestown. The Quakers, which have won a staggering 25 state titles, fell to Shawnee in the sectional final by one goal, 8-7. Moorestown lost eight seniors from last year’s team that went 18-4, including Megan McNulty, Ava Johnson and defender Faith Conaty, but a good number of players return, including leading scorer Katie Bianco (69 goals, 15 assists), Emma Greer (55 goals, 11 assists), Maddie Micelli (51 goals, 100 draw controls), Mae Murphy (39 goals, 12 assists, 69 draw controls, 20 forced turnovers) and goalies Danika Demas (81 saves) and Mackenzie Keleher, who played in 12 games as a freshman.
