After having Tuesday night’s season opener canceled due to weather, the Tri-City United baseball team got the opportunity to open its season Thursday night at Lester Prairie.

The Titans were clearly chomping at the bit to get started, as they cruised to a 13-0 victory on the arm of Max Krautkremer, who threw a five-inning no hitter with 12 strikeouts, as well as a four-RBI day from Parker O’Malley.

TCU struck in the top of the first with Krautkremer helped himself with an RBI double and in the top of the second, the team would add five runs, two of them on an error with another being scored on a Reggie Vosejpka double.

In the top of the third, O’Malley extended the lead to 9-0 with an RBI single and when the score went final, it was O’Malley and Krautkremer who combined for five total hits.

Nathan Blaschko earned a pair of walks and was hit by a pitch to reach base three times and as a team, the Titans showed a collective patience at the plate with six total walks. Kellen Jirik stole a pair of bags for TCU which finished the game with zero errors. Dylan Westerman led the team in putouts with 12.

With the win, TCU is now 1-0 (1-0 MRC) and will quickly turnaround with another conference matchup scheduled for Friday, April 5. The Titans will host Mayer Lutheran in their home-opener with first pitch scheduled for 5 p.m.
