Lockdown lifted after bomb threat at NAS Lemoore

LEMOORE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE)  – The lockdown which was prompted following a bomb threat at Naval Air Station Lemoore has been lifted, according to officials at the Kings County military base.

The threat was made on the Operations Side of the base, according to Navy officials, forcing all NAS Lemoore personnel to be evacuated from affected areas while the incident was being evaluated.

Officials say military working dogs were sweeping the area to locate any possible devices. Kings County Emergency Operations Department also brought in two of their K-9 units to perform sweeps.

While the lockdown was in place, officials asked personnel not to try to gain access to the Operations side – and that the Post 3 (Ops Gate) was secure.

No further information on the bomb threat was made available. Normal operations have since resumed at NAS Lemoore.
