There were more people arrested by state police for DUI in the region over the Memorial Day weekend than last year.

Troopers investigated fewer crashes this year than last year. There were 42 crashes during the holiday time frame, which was a decrease from 54 in the tri-county region in 2022.

There were more injuries in the crashes this year, with 16 people injured in the 42 crashes, compared to 13 injured in the 54 crashes last year.

Troopers throughout the state were conducting increased enforcement of people driving under the influence, distracted or recklessly during the holiday weekend.

No one was killed in the crashes that state police investigated.
