This coming summer just got a whole lot more interesting thanks to a new 5-part summer concert series debuting at Segra Field in Leesburg. It’s called the Sounds of Segra Field, and the first concert is coming up next week.
The schedule is filled with bands from across the DMV playing music styles ranging from 80s dance to classic rock and Latin beats.
First up next Friday, June 16, is Yoko Says No!, a popular and eclectic band in the region for more than 20 years. “Who can mash up a Michael Jackson song and a Pink Floyd song and play them both at the same time?” the band’s website asks. “Yoko Says No!” is the answer.
Sounds of Segra Field will happen on the third Friday of every month from June through October. The front concourse — just inside the main gates at the field — will be cleared and turned into a stage with a general admission area and VIP seating as well. There will be enough room for 1,500 music lovers.
This is what the Segra Field folks are calling a “BYOC” concert, meaning “bring your own chair.” Folding chairs, free parking, plus fun games, and food trucks. It’s going to be a party every third Friday at Segra Field.
Tickets start at $29, but — wait for it — they include the price of your first beverage. Tickets for kids ages 3-12 are just $15. You can find out all about the new Sounds of Segra Field concert series — including the full line-up of bands — at the official website here.
