Super Smash Burgers appears in downtown Leesburg

A new burger joint called Super Smash has popped up in downtown Leesburg, but its limited hours appear to be linked to show nights at the theater next door.

According to signs in the window, Super Smash has moved into the space at 19 West Market Street that used to be home to 19 West Burgers before it closed in 2021. The space is part of the same building as the historic Tally Ho Theater, which dates back to 1931.

The listed hours for Super Smash are Wednesday through Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. which seems like that would make it a good place to grab a bite to eat before a concert or performance at the Tally Ho. The website also says Super Smash will stay open for food service after late night shows.

The simple menu includes a selection of burgers including a Classic Burger with American cheese and a Brie Burger with bacon, brie, maple sriracha, and grilled onions. There’s also a German bratwurst and an Impossible Burger.

French fries and onion rings are the extent of the side dishes. The restaurant appears on local delivery platforms such as DoorDash and Uber Eats. You can check out the Super Smash menu here.

A year ago, the signs in the window touted an upcoming restaurant called Tally Ho Pizza — and indeed, the Super Smash website still has references to Tally Ho Pizza, including pizza-themed photos. We assume the Tally Ho concept morphed into the Super Smash concept over the past year.

Messages have been sent to the folks at the Tally Ho for more details on the food enterprise next door. We’ll let you know of anything juicy we learn.
