SimplyBe Coffee moving to a new location in Leesburg

People who have enjoyed getting their morning java jolt at SimplyBe Coffee in Leesburg will have to change up their plans a bit. The small shop is moving halfway across town to a new location.

SimplyBe opened in late 2020 in the town’s Shenandoah Square shopping plaza. That’s the same spot where the giant Floor & Decor store is located (the old Walmart) as well as a Burger King, an IHOP, and the Leesburg Public House restaurant.

But now comes word that the coffee shop is moving to 208 Church St. SE in downtown Leesburg. That’s the same retail building that was briefly home to the late, great Lettuce Be Loco gourmet salad restaurant.

Signs already hang on the building announcing the pending arrival of the new shop — along with a store called The Clothing Closet (more on that in a moment).

Meanwhile, a sandwich board outside the current SimplyBe location says that today — Friday, March 24 — is the last day in that space. They will close — and then expect to reopen on Church Street a week later — on Friday, March 31.

For anyone not aware, SimplyBe Coffee — and now The Clothing Closet as well — serve a bigger purpose than just selling coffee and clothes. They are both outreach programs from the Tree of Life Ministries, a non-profit organization created back in 2008 by the Purcellville Baptist Church.

SimplyBe employs staff that includes young adults with special needs, giving them an opportunity to hold a job and increase their work and life skills.

The SimplyBe Coffee team posed for a photo with local police officers and Sheriff’s deputies at a “Coffee with a Cop” event in February.

The Clothing Closet provides both new and gently used clothing items for men, women, and children and includes programs so that anyone can shop there, including those struggling financially.

There has already been a Clothing Closet operating in Purcellville. The Leesburg store will be the ministries’ second such location.
