Changes are coming! New all-way stop intersections on Leesburg’s Main Street

LEESBURG, Fla. — Lake County drivers and pedestrians will benefit from the creation of all-way stop intersections in downtown Leesburg.

The Leesburg Public Works Department crews replaced two traffic signals at the intersections of West Main Street and North 3rd Street and West Main Street and North 6th Street for four-way stops.

On March 29th, the all-way stop signs were placed and marked with flashing red signal lights.

These changes are coming to address public safety and reduce speeding on Main Street.

But ... there’s more!

Other traffic control devices, such as permanent flashing red signals and decorative stop signs, are coming to downtown Leesburg.

The city is also planning on repainting pedestrian crossings by April 14th.

Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to use caution as everyone learns the new traffic patterns.
