Troopers have issued a travel advisory as they continue to investigate a fatal crash in one of Lee County's major intersections.

Shortly before 9:45 a.m., troopers confirmed they're working a fatal crash on Six Mile Cypress Parkway, south of Daniels Parkway, involving a car and a scooter. The intersection is just north of the entrance to Hammond Stadium.

East and westbound lanes on Daniels Parkway, as well as northbound lanes on Six Mile Cypress Parkway, remain open.

Troopers urge motorists attending the 1:05 p.m. baseball game today to use U.S. 41 to Six Mile Cypress or Metro Parkway to Six Mile Cypress as a detour.

At least 12 people have died on Lee County roads in 2023.
