IRONTON, Ohio — Jerrino Johnson, 52, of South Point, has been sentenced to 15 1/2 to 20 years in prison for firing a weapon into a vehicle last August. Johnson pleaded guilty to attempted murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence, according to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office.
The incident took place on August 23, of last year, when Johnson followed the victim’s vehicle on Route 93. He then fired two shots into the parked vehicle. One round hit the back glass and went through the back seat on the driver’s side, while the second round was fired into the passenger side of the vehicle.
Investigators say the incident stemmed from a domestic violence-related case. Johnson was arrested and charged with attempted murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence.
Following his guilty plea, Johnson was sentenced to 15 1/2 to 20 years in prison.
