Derry man charged with rape, bail denied
A Derry Borough man is accused of raping a woman over four hours in November. Richard C. McElheny, 55, was arraigned Wednesday and was being held without bail. The woman reported the situation to borough police on Nov. 8. She told an officer that she was sexually assaulted in the basement of a borough home overnight after McElheny bound her hands and ankles, according to court papers. He is accused of threatening her with a knife.
2 more charged in Unity stabbing incident
Two more people have been charged in connection with a stabbing and robbery in Unity this week. Troopers filed charges Thursday against Michael J. Hafner, 22, of North Versailles, and Antonio James McMahon, 20, of McKeesport. Hafner was arraigned Thursday night and denied bail. An arrest warrant was issued for McMahon.

Indiana Area school officials confirmed the crash happened outside of Latrobe late Tuesday afternoon as it was transporting the girls’ varsity basketball team to their game against Greater Latrobe. State Police searching for two people accused of stealing from storage units
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- State Police are searching for two people accused of cutting the locks of self-storage units and stealing items from inside them in Westmoreland County.The break-ins happened at Larch's Self Storage on Willow Crossing in Hempfield Township between November 19 and November 20 and a Kia vehicle is believed to be involved.Police say the stolen items include paintball guns, an XBox controller, and jewelry.
