Route 10 in Richmond to close for permit work Wednesday
RICHMOND — Permit work will cause the temporary closure of all lanes of Missouri Route 10 Wednesday morning. According to a news release, MoDOT crews will be at the Routes 10 and 13 interchange from 10 to 11 a.m. to attach an overhead aerial line. The Richmond Police Department will assist with traffic control.
Warriors head to districts after besting William Chrisman 5-3
The Smithville Warriors finished the regular season portion of its schedule with a 5-3 road win over William Chrisman on May 8. “Jake Kruse did a great job of pitching against William Chrisman while Max McKenzie and Wryker House both had big hits for the Warriors,” head coach Josh Speer said.
Maryville highschool girls soccer trounces Kirksville; Bishop LeBlond pushes out Benton
(CAMERON, Mo.) No. 1 Maryville defeated No. 4 Kirksville by a score of 7-2 in the semifinal of the Class 2 District 8 Tournament in the earlier game on Thursday. In the other semifinal game, No. 2 Bishop LeBlond came back from a 3-1 deficit in regular time to take down No 3 Benton by a score of 4-3 with a free kick in overtime.
Westminster shuts down Holt to snare eighth final four berth
CHESTERFIELD — Alan Walker and the Westminster Academy tennis team had a lot to play for Tuesday in the Class 2 team quarterfinals against Holt. Walker and the rest of the Wildcats failed to qualify anyone for the individual tournament, which begins Thursday at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.

The defending Class 4 state champions are one step closer to another title after Liberty North girls soccer defeated Staley 3-0 in the District 8 Semifinals Monday, May 13.
