Chennedy Carter Neared a Triple-Double in Chicago Sky Return

    2024-09-09

Chennedy Carter’s highly anticipated return to the court was sealed with a Chicago Sky win. The guard and her teammates snapped a seven game losing streak as they attempt to make a playoff run.

On Thursday, the Sky took on the Los Angeles Sparks at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. Carter, who was out several games due to health and safety protocols, played in her first game since August 26.

In the Sky’s 92-78 win, Carter played a pivotal role, almost achieving a triple-double with 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists, along with one block. Her performance not only showcased her individual skills but also opened the door for a solid team performance, giving many of her teammates a chance to shine.

The team played its best defensive game in the past week, which was expected when it was announced that Carter would be available to play.

Not only were the guard‘s teammates ecstatic about her return, Sky Town made it their mission to shower her with love at Wintrust.

A fan even made a sign that said, “Welcome Back, Chennedy. We Missed You!”

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Carter said Sky Town’s unwavering support made her “heart melt.”

Chennedy Carter’s return wasn’t the only reason why the Sky won

Rookies Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso also had great performances Thursday night that secured their team’s win.

Reese was the Player of The Game with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 assists with one steal. The forward snagged another double-double, adding to her historic rookie year.

Kamilla Cardoso almost had another double-double. The rookie center, who has been effective since the Olympic break, had 12 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 5 blocks.

The win gave Chicago exactly what they needed to stay in the race for the eighth playoff spot. They’re currently tied with the Atlanta Dream with a record of 12-22; the Washington Mystics are closely behind with 11-23.

I just noticed one thing ever since reaches down now Chicago wins as long as she ain't trying to pad her statistics I told you she's holding this team back they lost seven in a row because of her and then she sits down and they start they win one let's see if they can win too without her I'd trade her she's not all that and I'm talking about Reese
