Las Vegas police shootings fell below the 5-year average in 2022, according to new figures released by the department.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) released the updated Use of Force and Vehicle Pursuit Annual 5-Year Statistical Report 2018-2022.
Last year there were 1,480,183 events which include 14 officer-involved shootings. This falls below the 5-year average of 16 officer-involved shootings.

A supervisor was on the scene in 71% of the officer-involved shootings.
"In 2022, LVMPD continued to build upon the 2020 improvements made to the department’s use of force policy," the department said in a press release. "LVMPD also emphasized the importance of ethics, values and professionalism while interacting with the public; Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) after-action reporting; active assailant response procedures and awareness to increased violence/ambushes on officers.
