Clark County officials reported nearly 900,000 gallons spilled from a Las Vegas sewage facility over the weekend.
District crews responded to reports of a wastewater spill on June 3 from the Water Reclamation District's Whitney Lift Station near Sam Boyd Stadium.
County officials said cleanup efforts were completed the same Saturday evening, and the spill had no impact on public health or the environment.
The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection was notified along with the Southern Nevada Water Authority, stakeholders downstream of the confluence of Duck Creek and the Las Vegas Wash, and other local and federal agencies.
Currently, the District is determining the cause of the spill and the amount of wastewater involved.
The Whitney Lift Station pumps an average of more than 4 million gallons per day, which can handle 15 million gallons daily.
According to officials, Duck Creek discharged an estimated 57,483 gallons.
The total overflow was estimated at about 863,625 gallons and about 281,500 gallons were recovered.
