Sister of man killed in crash involving ex-UNLV basketball recruit speaks out on plea deal

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —
The family of a man killed by a former UNLV basketball recruit says they're disappointed with a plea deal that could equate to a 90-day jail sentence.

Eric Echevarria was killed in December 2020 after a crash involving Zaon Collins, who police say was going 90 miles per hour near Fort Apache and Blue Diamond.

Collins will plead guilty to reckless driving resulting in death and vehicular manslaughter, not a DUI charge, as prosecutors say they can't prove he was under the influence of marijuana at the time.
