The Las Vegas Aviators have fallen to the El Paso Chihuahuas for the second night in a row at the Las Vegas Ballpark, this time by a final score of 20-5.
The Chihuahuas would have a 9-1 lead on the Aviators at the end of three innings played. The lead would later increase by 16-3 at the end of the sixth inning.
El Paso second baseman Jose Iglesias led the pack after going 5-for-7, with two doubles, three home runs, 8 RBI, and five runs scored for a total of 16 total bases.
Six other players would go on to record multi-hit games. The Chihuahuas have improved to 25-28 in the season.
Las Vegas right-hander Adam Oller suffered the loss after pitching 2.2 innings, allowing seven runs off seven hits, walking three, and striking out two on 72 pitches.
Aviators designated hitter Yohel Pozo went 3-for-5, with two doubles and an RBI, while right fielder Cody Thomas was 3-for-4, with a walk, double, and a run scored.
The series continues Thursday night for game three. First pitch is slated for 7:05 pm.
