Las Vegas, Henderson celebrate 40 years of PRIDE with events

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A pool party, family skate night, or a hike outside are just some of the ways PRIDE Month is being celebrated in Las Vegas and Henderson.

This is Las Vegas PRIDE’s 40th year in the valley and has several events planned.

“As we reflect on the journey thus far, our team is more focused than ever
on creating safe and inclusive spaces for self-expression, inspiring an authentic sense of activism, and celebrating the unique heritage and diverse cultures of the LGBTQ+ community,” Las Vegas PRIDE Board President Brady McGill said.

The Ruby anniversary theme will be Red and Wild. The month of activities will celebrate the LGBTQ+ Community in honor of National LGBTQ+ PRIDE Month this June ahead of the festivities planned in October.

Henderson Equality Center and Henderson Pride Fest also have events planned:

“We are excited to bring the Henderson and Southern Nevada community together to celebrate the diversity and strength of the LGBTQ+ community,” Chris Davin, the Henderson Pride Fest Director, said. “Our goal is to create a space where everyone feels welcomed and supported and to spread the message of love, acceptance and equality.”

Clark County Parks and Recreation is hosting a ‘Paint with Pride’ event.
