Two elite fighters smack-dab in the middle of the primes have apparently left oddsmakers unable to detect a winner. After years of vacillating, both Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. finally immured themselves into a room until they were each satisfied with their fight contracts.

Although it may have taken months, the two will officially clash on July 29th, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to the betting world, their showdown is essentially a 50/50 affair. That very notion, however, is a bit erroneous from Shakur Stevenson’s point of view. Having seen Crawford (39-0, 30 KOs) up close and personal on countless occasions, the former Olympic silver medalist isn’t convinced that the two pound-for-pound stars are operating on the same level.

“On paper, it’s a 50/50 fight,” said Stevenson to StayDown Productions while grinning. “I’m in the gym with Bud, I get to watch him in the gym, watch him spar. He looks good. I don’t get to see Errol Spence. Errol Spence maybe beating the hell out of his sparring partners.”

Sessions behind closed doors aside, Spence (28-0, 22 KOs) has proven to be one of the best fighters in the world. In what amounted to a meager 2022 schedule, Spence made the most of his lone appearance, stopping Yordenis Ugas in the 10th round of their 147-pound unification bout and stripping him of his WBA title.

Since taking care of business, Spence has remained sequestered on the sidelines in the hopes of luring Crawford into the ring. Now, with the two set to battle it out for undisputed glory, Spence has remained unbelievably confident that their highly anticipated encounter will go his way.

Stevenson, on the other hand, shakes his head in disapproval. No matter if it’s Spence or any other elite-level fighter, Stevenson will continue to stand firmly in the corner of his good friend.

“Bud is a bad motherf-----. I think Bud is one of the most slept-on fighters. At the end of the day, I’m rocking with Bud no matter who he fighting.”
