The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a murder-suicide near Elkhorn Road and Buffalo Drive.
On Sunday, at about 9 a.m., LVMPD officers responded to a report of two deceased individuals inside a residence in the 7800 block of Odysseus Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers located a woman suffering from apparent stab wounds and a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Medical personnel responded and pronounced both individuals dead at the scene.
The Clark County Coroner's office identified the man as 52-year-old Antonio Perez and ruled his death a suicide. The woman was later identified as 69-year-old Kathy Edgerton of Las Vegas.
Through the course of the investigation, LVMPD Homicide detectives determined that the man stabbed his ex-girlfriend and then shot himself. The identification of the deceased and the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
