The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has identified the officers involved in theMay 25 officer-involved shooting.

The shooting happened in the 4000 block of West Flamingo Road.

According to LVMPD, the officers have been identified as Detective Christopher Gowens and Officer Joshua Leach.

Detective Gowens is 45 years old and has been employed with LVMPD since 2014. He is assigned to the Investigative Services Division, Major Violator/Narcotics Crimes Bureau.

Officer Leach is 33 years old and has been employed with LVMPD since 2020. He is assigned to the East Community Policing Division, Northeast Area Command.

LVMPD said both officers have been placed on routine paid administrative leave pending the outcome of a review of this incident.
