Officers shot and injured a suspect after he took out a gun at a casino west of the Las Vegas Strip Thursday night, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
Detectives were surveilling a robbery suspect near Valley View Boulevard and Flamingo Road at about 11 p.m., LVMPD said in a statement.
The exact location of the shooting was not disclosed, though police could be seen at the parking garage of the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino.
The detectives attempted to apprehend the suspect, but he "produced a firearm, which prompted officers to discharge their weapons, striking him," according to a statement from LVMPD.
The man was taken to UMC and was said to be receiving treatment as of Friday morning, and his condition was described as stable. No other injuries were reported.
No other information has been released. Police say the officers who fired their weapons will be identified after 48 hours, per department protocol.
This is the second police shooting involving LVMPD so far this year.
