A months-old pup recently taken in by a local animal shelter hopes to soon find his loving forever home as he recovers from a life-altering procedure.
On Friday, The Animal Foundation shared Joey's story, an 8-month-old puppy who came to the shelter with a fractured back leg.
According to the post, a veterinary team thought it would be best to amputate Joey's leg, allowing him to have the best quality of life in the future.
Since his surgery, 11-pound Joey now feels much happier and more comfortable, giving endless kisses to The Animal Foundation team.
The Animal Foundation thanks residents who donate to their lifesaving programs, like the upcoming 'Best in Show' fundraiser, on Sunday, April 30th.
Joey now needs a foster family as he continues to recover before he is ready to find his forever home.
