Las Vegas headlining performer Terry Fator released a new song dedicated to the victims of the Nashville mass shooting.
Fator performed the song, called "Horses in Heaven," during his show at New York-New York and later released it on social media this week.
He told the audience that he wrote the song a few years ago based on a story he heard of two young boys, one of whom battled cancer, and how they played with horses.
The boy with cancer died and the other boy's mom explained what happened, Fator said. The boy said his friend visited him and informed him "there are horses in heaven."
Fator said he was on "America's Got Talent" when he woke up one morning and had the song in his head.
"I sat down and I sat at a computer and I wrote the entire song out, and I wept the entire time," he explained. "And I couldn't sing this song for about two years because every time I tried to sing it, I would just burst into tears."
Three children and three adults were killed in the shooting at The Covenant School in Nashville on Monday.
