CCSDPD teamed up with LVMPD, University PD, NLVPD, and HPD to host its 'Jester in the Crosswalk' campaign on Thursday.
CCSDPD Officer Keith Habig dressed as a brightly colored jester to catch distracted drivers on Maryland Pkwy in front of UNLV.
Police looked out for drivers who were not yielding to pedestrians and for those incorrectly crossing the road.
Drivers that did not yield to the jester could also face a hefty fine.
Officers stopped over 100 vehicles and issued 118 citations.
Local police host the event to remind pedestrians to wear bright-colored clothing to remain visible to drivers on the road.
