A World War II veteran who sustained severe injuries after three robbery suspects crashed into his vehicle during a pursuit with police has died.
On Thursday, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stated that 101-year-old Herbert Muskin died on Thursday, March 30, from injuries sustained in the March 1 crash.
Just last Thursday, News 3 reported that Muskin was making progress in his recovery, having been taken off a ventilator and breathing on his own, according to the family.
Police say Muskin and his wife were stopped at the intersection of Stephanie Street and Sunset Road in Henderson when a suspected stolen vehicle, driven by 29-year-old Kassandra Alvarez, crashed into Muskin's car.
They were transported to St. Rose Hospital, with Muskin later passing away at Sunrise Hospital on Thursday.
A funeral for Muskin will be hosted in Long Island at the New Montefiore Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
Alvarez was taken into custody by police and has remained at the Clark County Detention Center, where her bail was raised to $750,000 after a recent court appearance.
She is due back in court on April 13, where a murder charge is expected to be added following the death of Muskin.
