Reports of a gun forces lockdown of local high school

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A Las Vegas high school was put on hard lockdown Wednesday morning after reports that a person with a gun near the school.

Students were held in place at Shadow Ridge High School in the far northwest valley as police responded to the scene, but no gun was found. Students were then released to their parents early in the afternoon and classes were canceled for the day.

Police did say they arrested a male juvenile and charged him with making terroristic threats. No gun was found. More details are expected to be released in the coming days.

Tensions were especially high on Wednesday following Monday’s shooting at a Christian school in Nashville that killed three students and three adults.
