31 people honored at Las Vegas police commendation ceremony

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department recognized 31 people for commendable actions during a ceremony on Wednesday.

Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill was on hand to present the awards at LVMPD headquarters, his first commendation ceremony.
In all, the event highlighted 13 separate incidents.
Of the 31 people being honored, 22 received Lifesaving awards, which are presented to someone who took an extraordinary act or effort that saved a human life or lives.
One of those incidents involved officers rushing into a home last year to help three people suffering from near-fatal fentanyl overdoses.

McMahill also recognized two civilians who helped find a vehicle involved in an Amber Alert.
