The Shade Tree in Las Vegas is asking for donations of Easter-themed candy, eggs and other items to benefit children staying at its shelter.
The organization provides a shelter for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking and their children.
A spokesperson says Shade Tree is planning an on-site celebration that includes a basket for each child, an egg hunt and a special meal.
Nearly 50 children are staying at the shelter at the moment.
The organization is requesting donations of the following items:
- Already-assembled Easter baskets
- Empty plastic eggs
- Individually wrapped candy
- Non-candy items for eggs
Donations will be accepted through Wednesday, April 5, and must be scheduled via appointment. Those appointments are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
