The East Las Vegas Community Center hosted a big celebration for Cesar Chavez Day on Saturday, March 25.
The 9th annual festival featured food and music for the whole family at the community center, located at 250 N. Eastern Ave.
Attendees had access to resources and information from the city of Las Vegas and other community organizations. Several local and state elected officials also attended the event.

Cesar Chavez Day is officially celebrated on March 31 every year. It recognizes the birth and legacy of Cesar Chavez, who co-founded the National Farm Workers Association while advocating for immigrants and Latinos.
He campaigned for safe and fair working conditions and reasonable wages for farm workers in the U.S.
The U.S. government recognizes the day as a federal commemorative holiday, while Nevada recognizes it as a day of observance.
