Dynamic Las Vegas Defender Landon McComber Set For Notre Dame Visit

Notre Dame is set to host talented Las Vegas linebacker Landon McComber on Friday

It has been a busy few days for 2025 Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman linebacker Landon McComber, who was recently offered by Notre Dame as a part of the Pot of Gold offer event on Friday. The Las Vegas native was met with a ton of excitement and elation for that offer.

It was an opportunity that he did not take for granted.

“Coach Chad Bowden extended the offer to me,” McComber began to explain. “I always thought of Notre Dame as a big school to play with since a lot of exceptional guys played there, and their campus is really nice and an all around beautiful place to be.”

Being a part of the Pot of Gold event also meant a lot for McComber. The uniqueness of the event really stuck with him. It’s a chance to really highlight a bunch of good football players:

“I think the Pot of Gold day is pretty unique since they are Fighting Irish and it’s a nice way to make other recruits feel special within their program,” McComber said. “My recruiting process has been going great, and blessed to be able to have these kinds of things.”

McComber already boasts a long list of scholarship offers to his name. Some of the notable programs who have extended offers include Notre Dame, Georgia, Michigan, Oklahoma, USC, Tennessee, Colorado, Texas A&M, Michigan State, Boston College, Arizona and Cal among others.

Despite that attention from so many great programs, the talented linebacker is just worried about getting better. That’s been the mission this spring.

“Everything's been going great,” he said. “I have just been working out and getting better. There’s no spring break for me.”

Even before the offer came, McComber had made the Irish Breakdown staff aware of his upcoming visit to campus on Friday and Saturday. To say that McComber is excited about that upcoming trip would be a massive understatement.

“I’m excited to see the facilities and just the football program in general,” he explained. “It will be really cool to be able to see a spring practice and watch the players and coaches.”

The staff has clearly already made an impact on McComber, even with the process just beginning. Offering him and getting him on campus is a big step. By all indications, he is a player that Notre Dame is extremely high on.

This visit offers a big opportunity to really move the needle with the Las Vegas native.

The 6-2, 195-pound defender starred at Desert Pines High School as a sophomore. He transferred to Bishop Gorman this off-season to play on one of the better programs in the country.

As a sophomore in 2022, McComber finished second on the team with 65 total tackles in 11 games. He also recorded three tackles for loss, seven sacks and an interception.
