Mammoth Mountain to extend 'winter' season through July due to increased snowfall

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —
Mammoth Mountain in California, which is located about six hours northwest of Las Vegas, is extending its "winter" season through July.

Mammoth mountain is known for its extended spring seasons, but it's never extended this far into the summer.
Currently, there are nearly 53 feet of snow at the main lodge.

The record for snow at the lodge was 57 feet over the 2010-2011 season, and 11,000 feet up at the summit.
