Mother of two Alejandra Barraza says she was on the other end of the phone talking to her 9-year-old daughter, Mia, when the car accident happened.
"I just hear shattering noises on the phone. I can hear my oldest crying, and I hear him yelling, 'Get up, get up, Mia,'" explained Barraza.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police says after crashing into a wall in the east valley, the driver, who they have yet to identify, removed 9-year-old Mia and 1-year-old Maya from the vehicle to a second location minutes away.
Barraza explains it was her house, "He had the baby in his arms, and her body was loose already. Her mouth was purple," said the mother of two.
1-year-old Maya was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries.
"A broken arm, a broken leg, broken spinal cord, and was going to be paralyzed," she said.
Her condition continued to decline, and two weeks later, on March 2, she died.
The driver has still not been found. LVMPD says they took off, leaving the truck behind. In a police report, the driver is described as a 28-year-old male.
Barraza says she knows who it is. However, News 3 is not identifying them because police haven't named a suspect.
"He brought my kids out of the crash vehicle and brought them to me and then left, and since that day, the cops can't find him. His family doesn't know where he's at."
She claims he's called her a few times, but she believes he went to Mexico.
Barraza says she has to be strong for her 9-year-old daughter Mia but wants justice.
"If you're out there, you still have Mia, that misses you. The least you can do is give her justice and turn yourself in and let her rest in peace," said Barraza.
