The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says dozens of DUI drivers were taken off the road this St. Patrick's Day following a recent DUI blitz operation across the valley.
According to police, 144 vehicle stops were conducted, leading to 61 citations and 30 drivers arrested for DUI.
The initiative was held on Saturday, March 18, with assistance from officers in the LVMPD Bolden Area Command, LVMPD Downtown Area Command, and traffic officers.
On Saturday, Metro posted about a stop regarding a drunk driver who had just received their third DUI, a felony.
In an effort to keep people from drinking and driving this St. Patrick's Day, Lyft offered a special promo code, where riders could take advantage of $5 off a ride.
According to Zero Fatalities, 187 people redeemed and took advantage of the discount.
DUI operations are common and usually conducted by police during long holiday weekends.
Police remind motorists not to drive under the influence, which could lead to life-threatening consequences.
