Man who fled deputies in Largo arrested

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — UPDATE | Authorities say a man who evaded deputies in Largo earlier this week has been arrested.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said Kenneth Emery ran away from deputies on Monday while he was being arrested on a petit theft warrant.

On Wednesday, authorities said Emery had been located and taken into custody.

ORIGINAL STORY | The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for a man who escaped custody while being arrested in Largo on Monday.

The agency said the man, identified as 40-year-old Kenneth Emery, fled deputies as he was being arrested on a petit theft warrant.

He was last seen heading northbound on foot in the area of Seminole Boulevard and Ulmerton. Deputies said he still had a handcuff around his left wrist.

Emery is 5 feet 9 and weighs about 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark blue Tampa Bay Storm jersey, a tan jacket and black pants. He has a tattoo on his neck that says “dirty,” and tattoos on his fingers that say “spit” and “game.”

The sheriff’s office said its deputies, flight unit and K9s and bloodhounds have been working to track him down for several hours.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call law enforcement immediately.
