John Romano: Good grief, are we now having a petty argument over the St. Pete Rays?
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The argument about where to build a new baseball stadium was long, often feisty, but clearly necessary. Column: Stop megahotel expansion in St. Pete Beach
I was surprised and disappointed to read the editorial by former St. Petersburg mayor Rick Baker in which he pushed for the Rays to be rebranded when they move into their new ballpark. He wants the team to be renamed the St. Petersburg Rays. He reasons that because St. Petersburg is coughing up the cash to build the new stadium, St. Pete should get the branding rights as well. This is a really bad plan.

What it is like at St. Pete’s Derby Lane, 3 years after greyhound racing ended?
ST. PETERSBURG — Just a few years shy of its 100th birthday, Derby Lane still looks like its old self.
