Women’s Soccer gearing up for Winter ID Camps
WEST POINT, Ga. (Nov. 28, 2023) - The Point Women's Soccer team is preparing for their Winter ID Camp which serves as a Preview Day for the interest of players as a Future Skyhawk. The event will be free admission and will have two separate dates that players can attend. The dates will be January 13, 2024, or January 27, 2024. Those who would be interested in attending this camp on either date should complete the preview day registration form HERE or complete the form on PointSkyhawks.com and submit it to Coach Randy Douglas. Point Volleyball highlights Eight Daktronics NAIA Volleyball Scholar-Athletes
WEST POINT, Ga. (Nov. 28, 2023) - The NAIA has released the list for the Daktronics NAIA Women's Volleyball Scholar-Athletes list. The criteria to be featured on this list are achieving a 3.5 Cumulative GPA or higher, appearing on the eligibility certificate for the sport, and having attended the institution for one full year. Point Volleyball had eight players who would make the list as Abigail Hardwick, Ava Clay, Caraline Jackson, Claire Cordell, Janie Marie Messer, Jordan Palmer, Kristina Faison, and Lexi Arter each made the list.
MA races past Lanett in Chapman Tournament opener

Women’s Basketball Loses Non-Conference Match-Up
(WEST POINT, Ga.) – On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University women’s basketball team traveled to compete in a non-conference match-up against Point University, where the Lady Bears battled hard but ultimately fell to a final score of 52-32. TMU falls to an overall record of 1-5, while PU rises to an overall record of 3-3.

New Disc Golf Course Opening in Spring Villa Park, Opelika
Opelika Parks and Recreation will inaugurate the Spring Villa Disc Golf Course on November 28th. The course, planned by disc golf expert Kevin McCoy, includes two 18-hole championship disc golf courses. The first course, the Graveyard Course, is difficult with narrow fairways and significant elevation changes.
CSC Announces Soccer Academic All-District Teams
WEST POINT, Ga. (Nov. 21, 2023) - The College Sports Communicators announced the CSC Academic All-District for NCAA Levels of Division I, Division II, and Division III, along with announcing the teams for the NAIA levels. On Tuesday, November 21st the Point University Men’s and Women’s soccer teams had seven total players between both teams make the list. To be considered for this list, student-athletes are recognized for their performances on the field in the classroom, be at least a sophomore in the classroom and academically, have a minimum of a 3.5 GPA, and competed in 90% of the institution’s games.

With senior quarterback Ju’Juan Johnson looking to force big plays at times, the No. 3-seeded LCA found itself struggling for footing in some moments despite its lopsided 54-20 win over the 14th-seeded Peabody Warhorses in the regional round of the Division II select playoffs.
Women’s Basketball bounces back with a win over the Bears
WEST POINT, Ga. (Nov. 18, 2023) - The Point University Women's Basketball team returned to the court for a Saturday afternoon home nonconference game against former Appalachian Athletic Conference foe in Truett-McConnell University where the Skyhawks cruised past the Bears with a final score of 52-32. Shanbriah Rule got the Skyhawks going with the first score of the game which was followed by a layup from Ky'Leo Worriels. Worriels added to Point's lead with a mid-range nothing-but-net jumper. The Bears kept it close with layups and jump shots and tied the game with a score of 8-8. The Skyhawks started to catch fire as Point added an 11-0 run which began with a layup from Shakira Wilson. Mataea Boyd followed with a layup off the turnover of the Bears and Antonia Pittman followed on the next possession with a three-pointer. Ky'Leo Worriels added the last two layups of the first quarter to end off with a 19-8 lead. Point's defense continued to wreak havoc for Truett-McConnell as the Skyhawks only allowed three points in the second quarter. Ky'Leo Worriels and Mataea Boyd added the first two baskets of the second period. Mirial Cannon followed with a smooth mid-range jump shot to bring the score to 25-11. Antonia Pittman added two points from the charity stripe to bring Point's lead to 27-11 at the half.
LCS to add metal detectors for sports events

Berry Wins Big Over LaGrange
LAGRANGE, Ga. - Berry Men's Basketball increased their record to 2-2 overall with a big win over the Panthers of LaGrange college in tonight's contest, 91-69. A 52 point first half shocked the Panthers from the tip. The first eight points for the Vikings came inside the paint to motivate the team where they would outscore LaGrange 54-36 in the lane for the game.
