Two incidents occurred in Opelika, Alabama this week. In the first incident, a car crash on Veterans Parkway resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries. The crash involved a Toyota 4Runner and a Hyundai Sonata. The second incident is a cold case from 2009, where the body of 18-year-old Martez Latrell White was found with a gunshot wound in the roadway on South Long Street.

TROUP, CO. – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting a death investigation after a welfare check on residents of a Georgia home. The GBI is conducting a death investigation after Jesus Mena Lopez, age 43, of Thomasville, NC, and Kylie Ashlyn Womack, age 26, of West Point, GA, were found dead inside a home on Avenue B, West Point, GA, following a welfare check. On December 3, 2023, the West Point Police Department asked the GBI to conduct an investigation into the deaths.

Two found dead in West Point home identified, GBI investigating death
WEST POINT, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is now involved after two people were found dead in a home in Troup County on Sunday night. West Point Police said in a Facebook post on Monday that a man and a woman were found shot to death in the home located at 614 Avenue B. Officers were called to the home just around 8:15 p.m. for a welfare check which then turned into the death investigation.

11 arrested after multi-city drug investigation leads to kilos of meth, guns, thousands in cash
HARALSON COUNTY, Ga. — Multiple people were arrested following a multi-city drug investigation. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said the investigation began in September. Agents identified members of a drug trafficking organization living in Haralson, Carroll, Heard, and Troup counties and Cleburne County, Alabama. After a months-long joint investigation, authorities conducted search warrants at Daniel Lee Provo’s home in Temple, Clarissa Carla King’s home in Buchanan, and Matthew Wilson Strickland’s home in Lagrange. On Nov. 9, the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office along with other agencies sized five kilos of methamphetamine, two pounds of marijuana, fentanyl, and psilocybin mushrooms.
51-year-old inmate found dead in Lee County Jail cell
