The Holden man known as “Turtleboy” can attend the Karen Read murder trial, a Dedham District Court judge ruled on Friday, The Boston Globe reported. Aidan Kearney, 42, appeared in Dedham District Court for a pre-trial hearing. Unrelated to the Read trial, he was charged separately with violating a restraining order with his former girlfriend.
Police find worker dead behind business Saturday
FRAMINGHAM — Police are investigating an apparent homicide outside a Framingham business Saturday night, officials announced. Framingham police were notified to a business on Worcester Road around 10 p.m. Saturday night where a 30-year-old man was found dead in the trash area behind a building, police said. The man, a current Framingham resident whose identity was not disclosed in the report, had suffered physical trauma.
State police lieutenant Griffin sentenced to 5 years in prison for overtime thefts
WORCESTER ― State police Lt. Daniel J. Griffin was sentenced to five years in prison for habitual overtime thefts in U.S. District Court Friday. Griffin, who was convicted of multiple felonies including overtime theft in December, allegedly orchestrated the theft of more than $130,000 in federal grant funds, hid $700,000 in income from the IRS and fraudulently obtained $170,000 in financial aid from his children's private school.
