Would-be car thieves at it again: Lakewood Police Blotter

LAKEWOOD, Ohio

Attempted vehicle theft: Clifton Boulevard

The owner of a parked car discovered an attempted vehicle theft at 8:45 a.m. May 13 on Clifton Boulevard near Idlewood Avenue.

A rear passenger window had been broken out, glass was on the ground and the steering column had been peeled, according to a police event report.

Burglary: West 117th Street

A resident called the Lakewood Police Department at 9:04 a.m. May 15 and reported that his apartment had been broken into and things were missing.

Disorderly conduct: Detroit Avenue

At 6:21 p.m. May 18, an officer found a man dancing in the middle of the street and advised him to calm down.

Five minutes later, at 6:26 p.m., the officer again encountered the man on Detroit Avenue near Gladys Avenue and arrested him for disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

Weapon: Detroit Avenue

An officer arrested a driver at 10:14 a.m. May 17 on Detroit Avenue at Newman Avenue for carrying a concealed weapon, improper handling of a weapon and driving under suspension.

Theft: Lake Avenue

At 12:30 p.m. May 16, a condominium resident reported that his cargo van, parked outside his building, had been broken into. Tools were stolen.

Disorderly conduct: Madison Avenue

Police and paramedics responded at 2:21 p.m. May 16 to a call about an elderly man falling near the restrooms in Madison Park. The police arrested him for disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

Theft: Madison Avenue

The police department received a call at 5:33 p.m. May 16 about a bike being taken from Madison Avenue near Winchester Avenue.
