Man’s SUV stolen at gunpoint: Lakewood Police Blotter

LAKEWOOD, Ohio –

Robbery: Newman Avenue

A man notified police at 9:37 p.m. on March 6 that he was robbed at gunpoint outside his apartment building. Two men wearing masks took his 2018 white Ford EcoSport SUV and took off southbound on Newman. The vehicle’s information was entered into a state police database.

Grand theft vehicle: Abbieshire Avenue

A resident called the police department at 10:50 p.m. on March 6 to report his vehicle was missing from his driveway.

Disorderly conduct: Chesterland Avenue

A female resident called the police department at 10:59 p.m. on March 6 to report someone who sounded like a female was knocking on the front door and asking for help. Officers arrived to find an intoxicated female outside the home. They arrested her for disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

Theft: Detroit Avenue

Officers at 8:30 a.m. on March 9 responded to Giant Eagle grocery store where a man was accused of shoplifting. The suspect was charged with petty theft and possession of criminal tools and advised not to return to the store or he would be charged with trespassing.

Attempted grand theft of a motor vehicle: Edgewater Drive

An apartment resident at 11:31 a.m. on March 9 reported to police that it appeared someone tried to steal a vehicle out of the back parking lot of an apartment building.

Dangerous drugs: Detroit Avenue

An officer at 9:25 p.m. on March 9 responded to a caller’s complaint about someone yelling in the area of Detroit and Grace Avenues. The caller said it sounded like they were vandalizing something. Officers arrived and found a male that was huffing (inhaling fumes from household products for their intoxicating effects). The man was charged with abuse of harmful intoxicants, according to a police event report.

Theft: Parkwood Road

A man called the police department at 10:28 a.m. on March 8 to report his gun was stolen from his parked vehicle. Police entered information about the stolen weapon into a police database and cited the man for failure to secure dangerous ordnance.

Criminal damaging: Edgewater Drive

A man at 6:49 p.m. on March 8 reported someone slashed the tires on his vehicle parked outside his residence.

Theft: Nicholson Avenue

A resident at 10:53 a.m. on March 7 reported that it looked like someone went through her car overnight.

OVI: Lake Avenue

An officer at 2:34 a.m. on March 5 stopped a vehicle on Lake Avenue and arrested the male driver for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Police also added charges of having weapons under disability and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle after they recovered a handgun, according to a police incident report.

Criminal damaging: Lewis Drive

A man called the police department at 2:40 a.m. on March 4 to report that an unknown woman was hanging on his door and yelling that she lives there. The woman then broke out a window and tried to force her way inside, according to a police event report. Police arrived and arrested the confused woman for disorderly conduct while intoxicated and criminal damaging.

Theft: Edgewater Drive

An apartment resident called the police department at 9:18 a.m. on March 3 to report that her vehicle that was parked in a garage was broken into and some things were stolen.

OVI: Maile Avenue

An officer at 12:24 a.m. on March 4 arrested a woman for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
