Weekly Safety Report: Motorcycle and Vehicle Collisions in Lakeville
This week in Lakeville, Massachusetts, there were three incidents that required the response of the Fire Department. The first incident involved a motorcycle crash on Howland Road and Sears Island, resulting in the rider being transported to Saint Luke's Hospital. The second incident occurred in front of St. Martha & Mary Church on Bedford Street, where two vehicles collided before mass, sending two individuals to the hospital. The third incident involved a car colliding with a bus on Highland Road, with four people evaluated for injuries but not requiring hospitalization. Alcohol was not a factor in any of the incidents.

Weekly Safety Report: Shots Fired and Drunk Driver Crash in Wareham, Massachusetts
Two incidents occurred in Wareham, Massachusetts this week. The first incident involved reports of shots fired at Swifts Beach, resulting in the arrest of two brothers on charges of disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace. Bullet casings were found in the area along with two bullet holes in an unoccupied residence. The second incident involved an alleged drunk driver who crashed and flipped her car into a cranberry bog on Thanksgiving morning. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was assisted by a Good Samaritan.
Team Identifies 1985 Homicide Victim and Suspect
In April 1985, the remains of an unidentified individual were located in Fairhaven, Massachusetts along Route 195. The Fairhaven Police responded to the scene and determined that the remains were that of an adult male, estimated to be 5’9” tall and likely in his 30s or 40s at the time of his death. Investigators believed that the man had died 1 to 3 years prior to the discovery of his remains. Along with the man’s remains, investigators recovered spent projectiles and the remnants of clothing. The evidence the scene supported homicide as the manner of death for the unknown man.
