High school baseball sectional roundup from Thursday night

New Prairie beat Culver Academies, 8-4, and Glenn eliminated Tippecanoe Valley, 4-0, to advance into Monday's final in the high school Class 3A Glenn Sectional at Lakeville's Newton Park Thursday night.

For New Prairie, Reed Robinson doubled and tripled for an RBI. Tyson Greenwood also doubled, had four RBI and pitched five innings in relief for the victory.

Luke Grundberg had two hits for Culver.

No. 6-ranked New Prairie (21-7-1) and Glenn (21-5) will play at 11 a.m. Monday for the championship.

Class 4A at Northridge

Penn beat Concord, 11-0, in its opening round of the Class 4A Sectional game at Northridge.

Penn's Cam Dombrowski had three hits and two RBI. Cooper Hums also had three hits with a triple. River Pecina tripled and drove in two runs. Colton Hudnall and Evan Tuesley doubled for the Kingsmen.

Emanual Rosa doubled for Concord.

The defending state champion Kingsmen (16-8) will play host Northridge (18-9) in Saturday's opening semifinal at 10 a.m. The second semifinal pits Goshen (14-12) against Elkhart (7-14) at noon. Winners meet Monday at 11 a.m. for the title.

Northridge advance to Saturday's semifinal with a 9-3 victory over Warsaw in the opener Thursday evening.

Warsaw built a 3-1 lead after three innings before Northridge opened up a 6-3 lead with a five-run fourth inning.

Jethro Hochstetler, Max Horner, Harrison Kauffman, Murphy Zimmerman and Jack Urbanski each had two hits for the Raiders, now 18-9. Hochstetler, Gavin Collins and Kauffman each doubled. Hochstetler, Horner, Zimmerman and Urbanski each had two RBI.

Qade Carrington pitched five innings in relief to pick up the win.

Kellen Bailey and Cohen Heady each had two hits for the Tigers, who finish 15-13-1.

Class 2A at South Central

Wheeler beat South Bend Career Academy, 28-0. Kris Kingery, Lucas McNamara and Brayden Preskalo each had four hits as Wheeler pounded out 23 hits.  Wheeler (12-16) will play North Judson (21-7) in an 11 a.m. semifinal Saturday, followed by Hebron (14-9) vs. South Central (18-8).

Class 1A at Tri-Twp

Tri-Township beat Argos, 14-1. Tri (6-14) advances to a semifinal game at 1 p.m. Saturday. Argos finishes 1-17.

Class 1A at Fremont

Fremont eliminated Elkhart Christian Academy, 10-0, and Lakewood Park Christian beat Hamilton, 20-4.
