During a traffic stop Thursday night, a Lakeside man was arrested after it was found that he had multiple outstanding warrants out for his arrest, according to the Coos County Sheriff's Office (CCSO).
CCSO says around 4:02 p.m. Thursday, Deputy M.R. Smith with the Dunes Division was on patrol at the Spinreel Day Use access road towards Spinreel Road, near Lakeside. According to officials, Deputy Smith had observed a man driving westbound on Spinreel Day Use access road with an obstructed front Oregon license plate.
Deputy Smith conducted a routine traffic stop on the vehicle, and found Brian W. Rogers (47) behind the wheel, and found that Rogers' driving privileges in the state of Oregon were suspended. Additionally, the deputy found that Rogers had multiple warrants out of Douglas County for his arrest.
Authorities say that Detective Davis with the Coos County Sheriff's Office contacted the Reedsport Police Department, who advised they would lodge Rogers and arrange transport to the Douglas County Jail.
Detective Davis arrived on the scene and assisted the deputy with driving Rogers to the Reedsport Jail. CCSO says Rogers is still in custody.
