Youngstown man gets 24 months in state prison on assault, weapons charges
A Youngstown man was sentenced to 24 months in state prison after he had pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and having weapons while under disability felonies. Travon M. Badie, 32, of North Hazelwood Avenue, was not eligible for probation, according to Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Cynthia Rice, because of his previous prison sentence in 2009 for a manslaughter conviction while he was a juvenile.

Two people who helped their neighbors as a fire ravaged their Hazen Avenue apartment building were recognized for their lifesaving efforts. Brittanie Larson and Christopher Taylor were given Lifesaving Awards from the Ravenna Police Department at a recent Ravenna City Council meeting. Capt. The appeal of a Youngstown man convicted of the murder of a man during a home invasion in Warren back in 2023 has been denied. According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office, the appeal for 27-year-old Ronique Requel has been denied by the Ohio 11th District Court of Appeals on Monday.
