First Warn Forecast: Small chance this evening for a pop-up shower
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - It’s hot! For those of you who were looking for a glimpse of summer, here it is. Most of us made it to the mid-80s and a few spots even hit 90 degrees. There is a small chance out there Saturday evening for a pop-up shower, but most of us stay warm and dry. Overnight lows do not offer up much relief as we are expecting temperatures to only drop into the mid-60s. Sunday looks to be equally as warm. We will have another day of highs in the 80s with humid conditions. Expect partly cloudy conditions. There is a small chance of a pop-up shower or storm during the day, but the better chance comes late Sunday evening with our next First Warn. A complex of rain and thunderstorms comes in from the west likely after 9 PM. This will bring the opportunity for a few cells to be on the stronger side, with gusty winds being the main concern. I am not expecting a large severe weather outbreak. We should all get at least some rain from Sunday night/Monday morning. This complex could carry over into Monday morning with a few lingering showers. There is a severe weather threat on Monday, but right now I am not overly sold on it just yet. The higher threat comes on Tuesday as a powerful cold front invades the area. This could give us some daytime thunderstorms, some strong. Expect highs in the 80s through Tuesday, with 70s back for the second half of the week! Wednesday looks to be our coolest day with highs in the lower 70s.
