ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A man is accused of hiding an ATV after a crash in Lake County.

Round Lake Beach Police responded to Long Lake Drive and Clearwater Circle around 7:15 p.m. Sunday and found that a 40-year-old man had been injured during an ATV crash.

Round Lake Beach Deputy Police Chief Ryan Rodriguez told WBBM the whole situation was illegal.

"Anybody who's operating an ATV in the village of Round Lake Beach is doing so unlawfully, because we don't allow for them to operate on the roadway," Rodriguez said.

Robert Martin, 60, told police it was his ATV and that he moved it after the crash. He has been charged with obstruction of justice and is being held at the Lake County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

The man who was hurt was not expected to survive.
