9th Street closure won't expand for Honesdale Roots & Rhythm festival
At the Honesdale Borough Council meeting on May 20, Mayor Derek Williams talked more about pedestrian safety concerns, returning to a request he supported from the Honesdale Roots & Rhythm music festival organizers to have a second block of 9th Street closed for the June 15 event. That request was unanimously denied by the council on April 22.

Sullivan County students raise awareness for World No Tobacco Day
LIBERTY- This year in Sullivan County, almost 75 students participated in Chalk the Walk events in Roscoe and Monticello for World No Tobacco Day to expose big tobacco and raise awareness in their schools about the dangers of vaping. The Chalk the Walks were completed as part of the students’ CATCH My Breath vaping prevention program. The students went outside and wrote facts about vaping and tobacco, quit/support lines, and hashtags including:
