The Lady Warriors would advance in the section 1AA tournament by defeating Lake City 60-39 on Feb. 28 at the Mayo Civic Center, but they would fall short to Rochester Lourdes -- losing by just two points -- 61-59 to end their season in the Mayo Civic Center Auditorium on Mar. 2.

The Warriors faced the Lake City Tigers in a matchup at the Main Floor of the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, Minn. Caledonia Area would win the tip, and Josie Foster (No. 4) would start off things with a drive layup for two.

Lake City stayed in the game fairly well during the first half. Some tough offensive fouls for the Warriors began to stifle the offense, and Lake City would even it up at 11:40 at 11 points each. But Foster would strike a quick three immediately after to take the lead again. The Warriors would be in foul trouble early and give the Tigers bonus free throws almost halfway through the half. The Tigers could not capitalize on free throw attempts, as their first half percentage was abysmal near fifty percent. The score would end up 35-27 to end the half.

The second half saw the Warriors defense come alive and deny the Tigers any momentum on offense. The Warrior’s offense continued to pummel the Tigers, and a big steal by Aubrie Klug (No. 3) and assist to Nicole Banse (No. 15) with a layup highlighted the efficiency of the Warriors in the second half.

With eight minutes left in the game, the score became 51-37, and the Tigers would only score two more points in the half, with the final score being 60-39. Klug would highlight the scoring for the night with 29 points, Foster with 15 points and Banse with 7 points.

The Lady Warriors would move on and face Rochester Lourdes on Saturday, Mar. 2. The Warriors would look good at the half, leading by 31-19, but would fall to Rochester Lourdes by a final score of 59-61.

The Lady Warriors would end up 24-10 on the season, and 11-3 within section 1AA.
